Nick Muse

Blame the fans for the losses.

Tweet instead of tackle.  Yeah, that's the ticket.

I did yard work on Saturday.

Mulched instead of bagged.  It's all my fault and I fully accept responsibility for the blow-out loss to the Aggies.

A player sticking up for his team and coach on Twitter. Its not like they are going to bad mouth their team publicly, even if they don't like the coach.

2 weeks to prepare and they have 3 points to show for it and Jimbo called off the dogs on a defensive genius and incredible recruiter. It's not criticism, it' facts.

I don’t believe in trashing the players at the same time players need to suck it up and not trash the fans.  I think the majority of fans are laying the blame at the feet of this coaching staff, but I am sure there are some that are blaming players.  At the end of the day it is the coaches job to have them ready and apparently that detail was overlooked this past weekend.

They're right.  People should just send their $ and shut up, regardless of the product on the field.  Not a fan of booing the team on the field or calling out specific players but coaches are paid a ton (to coach and to leave) so they should be able to handle some criticism.  Especially when you have an extra week to prepare and put 3 points  up.  Most rational folks aren't expecting to win every game but we should be competitive and look well prepared and coached.  6 wins in our last 19 or something like that will upset a lot of fans.  Rightfully so.

I'm not a fan of criticizing players and I am glad they are standing up for their coach. There are a lot of things to like about Muschamp. And one of them is that all his players seem to really like playing for him.

However, it's just not translating to performance on the field. It's one thing to get beat, and even have an 'off seasons' during a pandemic when you are only playing SEC games. But to just go out barely show a pulse for 2 games is just unacceptable. Not sure what happened between the Auburn and LSU games, but it's like a whole different team.

Good for him...and he's mostly correct...the most vocal 'fans' usually don't have the highest football IQ...been that way since I was a kid.  You can certainly have an opinion...I just don't think it matters to the people doing things we can't. Especially when you start talking shit about some college kid. The coach is open game...he gets paid a lot to do his job...more than most...and rightfully so.

This is well said. There is a LOT I like about Boom and TRob...almost everything...including that their kids love them...but...last two games are not positive signs along some rebuilding project. Let Ole Miss rag dol us and things get taken to the next level...we win out and who knows.

Who comes in after Muschamp matters

Wow!  Going after the fans that are booing the coaches because the team has been losing badly for a while now.  Not smart.  Apparently, Muschamp means more to him/them than winning games on Saturday.  Is that good or bad?  Muschamp must be our "Champions of life" coach like Butch Jones was at Tenn.

If a good coach does his job and pushes his players to the next level so they can compete and win, he won't be liked by all of his players.

#1 Clemson got upset by #4 Notre Dame last weekend.  They have a bye this week and their players will respond to the defeat by hanging 70 points on FSU in two weeks.

In contrast, our players will simply blame the fans instead of themselves for losing to a ranked opponent and then get curb-stomped by Ole Miss this Saturday.

That's the paradox of players liking their coach.

Yep, night and day differences.

Also Ole Miss is a very good offense going up against a terrible Swiss cheese defense that couldn't stop my 86 y/o mother from gaining 5 yards up the middle.

Our mediocre offense going up against their mediocre defense equates an Ole Miss win by at least 2-3 TDs.

This is nonsense...one...Clemson lost in double overtime to a ranked and undefeated...second ranked team in the country...ND because the best college QB in a decade and future first pick in the NFL draft didn't play...that game and our game have less than zero to due with each other.

NEWSFLASH!! Clemson players like playing for their coaches too! There is no paradox of players liking their coach here.

BTW...Could you link where any kid has blamed the fans for losing to a ranked opponent?

You literally just backed what he was saying.  I'll try putting it a different way than he did.  We have a coach that is liked by the players and we lose.  Taters have a coach that is liked by the players and they also win.  Taters are obviously doing something right with their players and we aren't.

No I didn't...none of this has anything to do with the post I responded to

It's great that the players like the coaching staff and stick up for them.  That is admirable.  Bottom line, this staff is not getting it done.  Whether they are not really recruiting well or can't develop players, I am not sure.  Maybe some of both.  If we continue down this path with CWM I don't see how anything will change.  He failed at UF and he is failing here.  It's not hard to see IMO that being a head coach is not something he can succeed at in a Power 5 conference.  Players can tweet what they want, but we have not seen any progress in the last 2-3 years.  We are getting blown out way too often and look like a team that is not prepared at all.  That is coaching.

Obviously, the players do not care enough about the coaching staff to play hard enough to win.

Muschamp has never learned the rule of great coaches: You play to win - instead of playing not to lose.
Well said Ace!  It sounds like he takes care of them regarding everything else but football.
