NIL the portal college players are now pros without contracts

ASPCA just called and said to leave the horse alone. They've confirmed it is dead and did not die of natural cause. Aggravated assault is suspected.
They called me and asked that I run a commercial late at night to remind everyone of the atrocities... to show the horse being kicked and chained up to try and keep this type of abuse from happening again....

I am fine with players getting paid because they bring revenue into a program, but I think there's a reasonable limit past which things get absurd.

I can see things headed toward something like franchise/program NIL player deals.

The only people that control the absurdity are those that write the NIL contracts to athletes, like owners in the pros if you are getting kids under contract to go play at the school of your choice it is on you because that is against the law/rules... This is the issue everyone is looking at and like speeding on the highway it is addressed and everyone knows the rules/law but will be at a minimum be going 5 to 10 above the posted...
I stated before when a few get burned by kids all will change, the right one has to get burnt I guess...

So at what point do these big money nil investors start leaning on the coaches to get their investments playing time? The only way this thing gets new structure around it is when the big programs start losing games to traditionally lesser teams and then there will be a new set of rules to get them back to the top.

From the above article:

In 2022, Bryce Young allegedly made $3.2 million in NIL deals. Meanwhile, C.J. Stroud and Caleb Williams both made about $2.5 million.
The lunatics are running the asylum. Some really great points made in the article GMB2USC23 posted.

It will get crazier before we see some semblance of civility in college football again, I stated when the thread concerning paying college athletes was brought up that it would be a wild wild west but don't blame the kids, it takes 2 to tango. The adults started college football on this course long ago with the passion to win/cheating and the chase of big money... blaming the kids and calling them inmates is probably not a good analogy though I understand your rational but the adult writes the contract, like owners in pro sports if the adult is doing it for anterior motives and we know most are that is on them 🙄😉, the kid is signing a contract for him to use his NIL, not to play at a certain school as the contract can't be written like that 😉 🙄
I wonder how much NIL can be written off for tax purposes, still looking into it.
