Now that we know Beamer by all reports going to lead the way let's talk about the future Staff make up

According to postings from another site, this isn't over and Billy Napier is still scheduled to interview on Sat.

Hold on to yer lugnuts!

Fingers still crossed for Napier!

Fingers still crossed for Napier!
FWIW....may just be wishful talk, but I don't see anything in this comment that looks out of place:

Billy is interested and it won’t take $5 million to get it done. Those reports are fake news, that’s the main reason I posted my update.

IF the interviews are continuing, then the "It's a done deal, Beams is on the way" stuff is just plain wrong. Think about it - when was the last time you were either interviewing for a job or on a search committee, and in the middle of the interviews you told someone to start preparing to be the next <fill in position>." It doesn't make any sense. Word is that Napier is still getting a second interview Friday or Saturday ... IF that is the case he is still very much in the running. It's not a horse race - there aren't announced leaders during the process. There will be a TON of people with "sources" reading tea leaves, like we all all - but what the gen pop milling around the yard are saying isn't generally a true reflection of any search until someone can produce paperwork or has talked to Ray, or the source in this case is the AD's office.

IF the interviews are continuing...
Allegedly....because Ray hosed this the last time around, multiple hands are in the selection, which may be the source of some of the disinformation.

I still believe this is Caslen's show....but who really knows?

The only thing that scares me about Mason would be he would be a candidate for HC quickly. Coaching cohesion and unity makes such an impression on a program, like ours where we cant lose top coaches and just bring in a guy, like Bama does.

Laugh now ... because you clowns have been on double secret probation since the beginning of the semester.

I hear what you're saying. Here's the way I rationalize that: Program succeeds --> some assistants move on to bigger jobs ---> because program succeeds, new space opens for young, up-and-coming coach who brings new energy

College coaching is a mercenary profession. The days of coaches staying for their careers are just long gone. If success occurs, all you can do is know that when a vacancy happens, the success that enabled that coach to move on is a lure to bring another in, whether it's a HC or a coordinator.

I'm with you in hoping that if good coaches get poached or leave to advance themselves, they can be replaced with equally talented coaches because we are running a quality program. I just hope its not after one year, because now guys have to learn new stuff from the new coach.

yes, that replacement process is CRUCIAL. I think SOS lost steam because of that.

agreed a coach moving on to a higher position is a great sign for your program. It also makes hiring the next assistant easier because everyone wants to go somewhere that they can hep them achieve their dreams. The idea of avoiding coaching staff turnover is regressive and antiquated, at best.
