Baseball/Softball is a weird sport. Some days nothing goes your way, and other days, everything goes your way. I’ve played a lot of softball in my life, and I’ve been on both sides of beatings like that. I could feel how that game was going to go before the Cardinals even scored the first run. I knew for sure it was going to be a blowout when Freddie couldn’t see the ball coming, because Ozuna blocked his view (which was a brilliant play). In games like that, it’s like the ball has eyes for your opponent, and always goes just out of your reach, or bounces funny.
The Braves were the better team, but in a short series, the better team doesn’t always win. It’s one of the things I love and hate about Baseball. The Braves and the Dodgers both lost, and they were the two best teams in the NL.
It is what it is, and I’m a National League guy, so I’ll be pulling for the Cardinals the rest of the way, but I will be eagerly anticipating the Braves taking the field next season.
Also, Congratulations to Brian McCann, and thanks for the memories!

Disappointing end to the season, but the future is still bright along as AA keeps the core of the team together.
