I see a lot of guys are getting in the portal but they may not hurt us so much. I hope Ashford find himself a place he can start.
I know Beamer is also dealing with that 105 man limit this year.
But it looks like he is getting some decent players to come visit. Most of them do not get the chance to see Willy B full of fans for a game. But at least Tanner got that wonderful

Still no word on the RB from 'Bama?
Justice Haynes. The last word I heard was he was scheduled for a visit here this past Monday. I haven't seen any confirmation that the visit did or did not happen.

Just saw where his visit was rescheduled for tomorrow. So hopefully, he's impressed -- looks like he could be a good replacement for Rocket.

I'm also hearing that we just signed Andrew Jones, LB from Grambling. He has 1 year of eligibility left and was named SWAC Co-DPOY & SWAC All-American. He had 122 total tackles, including 20.5 for loss and three sacks in 2024.

I think it is good to have Ashford still play in the Bowl.
I would hate to really need him, but it is always good to have him if needed. I think it would be great if we are winning good enough for Sellers to sit out and give him playing time. Would make him look better to other schools.

That former 5-star, Brownlow-Dindy, could turn out to be a great player, but he does not have much playing time. You would think a former 5-star would have been out there way more than 2 games. Hope Clayton can get him ready.
The stats that the LB, Andrew Jones made are really awesome. I can definitely see him getting a chance to start. After losing Debo, Knight, and Bam Scott, we can use an experienced LB or 2.
Being Sellers got used to having a TE like Simon out there to throw to, maybe Dingle can fill those shoes.

Beamer and Company are doing another great job with the Portal.

That whole Andrew Jones scenario is weird. He commits to us then goes and visits ole miss which should have been the writing on the wall, then flips his commitment 2 days after committing to us. Oh well, still a lot of time left in the offseason and a lot of players in the portal and still to enter the portal.

The portal stuff makes my head spin.

If we win the bowl game and get ranked higher in the final AP poll, we could only do pretty well in the portal.

Wes Mitchell with some levity for those freaking out because Shawn Murphy hasnt been productive so far. My personal take is a lot of this is show and prove but that would be the case no matter who we bring in on defense. They will have big shoes to fill. We've brought in 3 highly rated out of high school guys on defense, two experienced guys to fight for starting spots on offense, and a highly rated possible qb of the future. We will continue to get better.

I know this has been said over and over but ratings only matter so much but I think we have coaches that are good evaluators of talent, molders of talent and exceptional at hyping them up...
Beamer is building a culture with his hires to not only have a minor league for the NFL but a culture of professional men, coaches, social media influencers,, broadcasters, Olympians, Future leaders, Doctors, Lawyers... that want to play football for him and they bring talent and money! His hires have also showed the willingness to morph systems, to build systems around athletes to make the player better...I think all these little things make recruits see Sellers, who was not an elite recruit but will be a Heisman candidate going into next year, take a pause and at a minimum give South Carolina a thought! Reminds me of the LattimoreSpurrier effect in many ways...
