Quandeski Whitlow thinking hard about Louisville

South Carolina commit Quandeski Whitlow is seriously considering a flip to Louisville following his visit this weekend.
“It was great,” Whitlow told InsideTheVille.com. “I loved it up there. I would say it was a 9.8. It’s a 50-50 possibility (I could flip) because I really liked it there (at UofL). South Carolina is a good (spot) but it could go otherwise. Anything is bound to happen.”
What stood out about Bobby Petrino’s Cardinals?
“I like their 3-4 defense,” said Whitlow. “They told me I’d be playing a lot of rush end and I’d have more than enough playing time as a freshman if I commit. They only have four linebackers and one of them just had back surgery and he won’t be playing in the spring.”
A 3-star recruit from Opelika, Ala., Louisville thinks the 6’3, 225 pound pound Whitlow can help replace outside linebacker Lorenzo Mauldin next season.
“They told me I could be the stand up guy and rush the passer,” Whitlow said. “They think I can rush or put my hand down.”
Louisville paired Whitlow up with Charles Standberry, a tight end from Whitlow’s area who played as a true freshman last season.
“My host was someone I played against two years ago, Charles Standberry,” says Whitlow. “He told me he scored their first touchdown against Miami and I felt like everything is true about Louisville playing true freshmen. If you come in and do work you’re bound to get on the field and play as a freshman.”
Louisville also had nine commits, including friend Khane Pass, on campus who spent the weekend working to convince him to join them next season playing for the Cardinals.
“I was with them (Pass brothers) the whole weekend and we were all talking about (Louisville),” said Whitlow. “I played against Traveon Samuel last year, too. I met Henry (Famurewa). I felt really comfortable with those guys. They treated me like their own brother.”
Whitlow is scheduled to visit South Carolina and Florida this month. Louisville will make an in-home visit Monday.
“Coach Petrino and Coach Scott are coming down tomorrow to see me and talk to my parents,” Whitlow said.
