Four-star running back Jordan Scarlett 5'11" 210lbs de-committed from FAU on Friday morning. “I felt it wasn’t the best fit for me athletically and academically. I informed (running backs) coach (Roger) Harriott and coach (Charlie) Partridge and they had a lot of respect and love for me.”
The nation’s No. 11 back breaks down his new options and plan going forward.
“The main schools I’m considering now are South Carolina, Miami, Florida State and Ohio State,” Scarlett said.
The Fort Lauderdale (FL) St. Thomas Aquinas standout added his thoughts on each of those programs.
South Carolina - “(Cornerbacks) coach (Grady) Brown and (running backs) coach (Everette) Sands are coming after me hard. They are trying to get me on campus so I can see it for myself. Skai Moore is already there and Damon Arnette will probably go there.”
Florida State - “I’ve been talking to them a lot. I told them I’m keeping my options open. I mostly talk to (running backs) coach (Jay) Graham. I can see them on the come up. They had a great season last year and will be even better this year.”
Ohio State - “They’re a great team that’s always going to be on top of the Big 10. I wouldn’t mind playing there.”
Miami - “I visited there yesterday and had a great experience. I got to talk to the coaches. It was a good experience all-around. They are always going to be there for me and respect whatever decision is best for me.”
Could anyone else slide into this four team equation?
“Probably just Florida,” Scarlett said. “FAU isn’t an option anymore. I felt Wisconsin was too far away for me.”
The No. 17 overall recruit in the state of Florida hopes to visit two of these schools in July.
“I don’t have any visits planned but I’m sure I’ll take some,” Scarlett said. “Probably to South Carolina and to Ohio State for Friday Night Lights in late July.”
How about official visits?
“I’m not sure,” Scarlett said. “Probably South Carolina and Ohio State. I’m not sure if I’ll take one to Miami. I plan on taking all five before I make my next decision. I might make it at the U.S. Army All-American Game.”
In his first three years of high school ball, all at Fort Lauderdale (FL) University School, Scarlett rushed 351 times for 2,857 yards and 50 touchdowns.
