RB target has big game, lines up visits to Columbia and Clemson

Visits on deck
After catching a touchdown pass and rushing for another in Irmo (S.C.) High School’s 38-27 win at Chapin on Thursday, 2019 running back Kendrell Flowers was showered from teammates.
“You’re interviewing the G.O.A.T.”
“Hey, 2-6. Best running back in the state.”
Against J.L. Mann a week earlier, Flowers scored 3 rushing touchdowns (24, 58 and 10 yards). Next weekend, he’ll visit Clemson for the Auburn game. South Carolina will host him the following weekend for the Kentucky game.
The 6-foot, 205-pound Flowers will also visit South Carolina for the Wofford and Clemson games to end the regular season. He’ll return to Clemson for the Florida State game Nov. 11.
High expectations
247Sports composite 3-star center Hank Manos, who’s been committed to the Gamecocks since late March, believes South Carolina will beat North Carolina State at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
Actually, it’s a little stronger than that.
“I expect them to win,” the No. 11 center in the Class of 2018 said. “I look for improvement on the offensive line, from last year [after] changing up offensive line coaches. Very excited to head up there, taking my mom and my girlfriend, so we’ll be checking it out. Just excited.”
The 6-4, 275-pound Manos is part of a South Carolina 2018 class ranked No. 20 in the country and No. 6 in the SEC.
“It’s great. Getting to see guys buy into the same idea that I bought into, however many months ago it was,” he said. “It’s just great to be able to bring those guys in and get close to them while we’re still in high school at different high schools.”
Manos is close with 4-star quarterback Dakereon Joyner and 3-star offensive lineman Wyatt Campbell, who might end up being his roommate at South Carolina.
The latest with ‘Tree’
Two-star defensive end Trajan “Tree” Jeffcoat will take an official visit to Missouri for the Auburn game Sept. 23.
The Tigers are his favorite. He hears every day from someone on the coaching staff, whether it’s coach Barry Odom, defensive line coach Brick Haley or one of the recruiting assistants.
“The message they’ve got for me, if I come up there, I have a chance to compete for a starting position as a true freshman,” Jeffcoat said.
The 6-3, 230-pound prospect from Irmo said Colorado State has invited him to take an official visit, as well. North Carolina, he said, is close to offering. South Carolina continues to keep an eye on him.
“I don’t really know, but I hear they’re talking,” Jeffcoat said of the Gamecocks. “They’re about to come up with an offer, so I’m just sitting back [and] just waiting for it.”
