Realistic expectations for 2022

I hope that this year was a good learning experience for the team, and that they now know the systems they are supposed to be running. With added talent coming in, my heart is wanting to shoot for the moon, but my brain is being more realistic. I think 7-8 wins would be doable in the regular season, with a hopeful bowl win bringing us to 8-9. If we can get to 9 wins by the end of next season, more if the stars all align and everything bounced our way, which isn’t likely, I will be very happy, and I think you will see other teams start to really worry about us, which i think some are already getting a bit uneasy. As others have stated, with a COTY award for Beamer, we would continue to be the Cinderella story and draw more attention for recruits. I am starting to feel like Coach Beamer will get us where we want to be a lot quicker than expected. Hopefully, that trend continues.

I know I'll be happy.

Well the last time UGA won the natty, there was a team from SC that had 1 win above .500 who went on to win it the following year.

UGA won it again, and oh look! We were 1 win above .500...

I too am inclined to say 6-7 wins. Next season's schedule look pretty similar to this past season's. Arkansas replaces Auburn, and looks to be a more competitive opponent. We will get Texas A&M, Missouri, and Tennessee at Williams-Brice. Also Georgia too, but I fear they may be on such a high from their national championship that that game may be a foregone conclusion.

On the other hand, a huge issue this past season with our offense involved our passing attack, and with the addition of Rattler the depth there may be substantially improved. We lose Harris and White who were our top two productive backs, and that will be a big question mark. We also lose some key players on defense, but return enough there that we should still be stable defensively if they stay healthy. Hopefully at WR Leggette and Ahmarean Brown will step up joining Josh Vann, and hope to see Rico Powers and Omega Blake contribute. Jaheim Bell at TE may have made his introductions in the Duke Mayo Bowl. Would like to see more stability and consistency on offense for 2022, and that could make a difference of 2-3 games either way.....
