Recruiting Notes For Feb. 28: Thomas sets visits for this week; Vegas QB has USC on short list; Blythewood DB visits USC; Another SEC offer for Gregory
DE Xavier Thomas of IMG Academy tweeted Monday night the visits he and some teammates will make this week on a bus trip organized by the school. The crew will stop at USC Thursday, Tennessee and Georgia Friday and Clemson and Wake Forest on Saturday.
USC is on the short list with QB Dorian Robinson of Las Vegas, and he’s planning a summer decision. Also on his list are Alabama, Oregon, UCLA, North Carolina, Florida, Michigan, UNLV, Nebraska, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida State.
DB Isheem Young (5-11 201) of Philadelphia has offers from Clemson and USC among others. He said he is planning to drive down this weekend for the Clemson junior day and might stop by USC as well while in the state.
Blythewood DB Jaydon Brunson went over to USC Monday to watch the spring practice. “It went great. Coach T-Rob said he wanted to see me a little taller when I came again, and he said that I looked taller this time, so that probably means more interest from them. He just told me he was glad I came and hopes to get me back.” Brunson is going to visit Georgia State this Saturday. He has not yet been offered.
2019 ATH Akele Pauling of Ben Lippen plans to visit USC Tuesday.
2017 Ben Lippen QB Patrick McClure said Clemson is his top choice academically speaking and he’s waiting to hear back in early March on if he’s accepted into school. If he is, he’ll possibly walk on the football team. He’s also looking at walk-on opportunities at USC, Virginia Tech and Georgia.
Byrnes WR Demarcus Gregory picked up an offer from Missouri.
2019 QB Johnathan Bennett of Summerville was at USC Saturday. He has a Coastal Carolina offer.
USC target DL Jalen Cunningham of Odenville, AL landed an offer from Georgia.
