Recruiting Notes For March 28th
RB Devin Darrington (5-11 190) of Bel Air, MD visited USC Friday for the spring practice. He as not been offered by the Gamecocks but the interest is there both ways. USC and I have a strong interest in each other and I’ll be back again in June for a camp.” Darrington has offers from Harvard, Yale, Penn, Cornell, Holy Cross, and Lafayette. He also has visited Auburn, Syracuse and Rutgers. Last season he rushed for 1314 yards with 1524 all purpose yards and scored 16 touchdowns.
TE/DE Hamp Gibbs (6-3 254) of Augusta was at USC’s practice Friday in a look-see for both him and the coaching staff. “I met and talked with my position coach for defensive ends, Coach Thompson, and talked to him and several other coaches for a while after practice. Coach Thompson seemed quite interested in me, but he obviously needs to see some of my film, nearly all of which is from sophomore year due to my knee surgery this year, and he will need to see me perform at camp this summer.” Gibbs has visited NC State twice and likes the Wolfpack. He’s also getting interest from Harvard, Princeton and Columbia and has an offer from Grinnell College in Iowa.
USC target Josiah Coatney of Holmes JC, MS was offered Sunday night by Texas A&M.
USC target OL Viktor Beach to visit UCF Wednesday and Purdue Saturday.
2019 ATH Jashawn Sheffield of St. Simons Island, GA was offered by Clemson Friday and USC Saturday on visits to the two schools.
DE Justin Thomas of Spanish Fort, AL visited USC Saturday.
USC offered 2019 ATH Blake Hinson of Deltona, FL. His brother is USC signee Evan Hinson.
USC target DE Alec Jackson of Montgomery, AL was offered by Alabama Friday and Auburn Saturday while on visits. Jackson also picked up a Kentucky offer on Friday.
USC target WR Jeremiah Holloman of Covington, GA visited Auburn Friday.
USC target OL Viktor Beach of Ft. Myers, FL will visit NC State April 8th and UNC April 9th. He has also visited USC.
DE Logan Rudolph of Northwestern visited Alabama Friday. He’s also a USC target.
