LB TJ Brunson 6'1" 220lbs of Richland Northeast was among the junior visitors at USC Saturday. He was one of the few 2016 recruits invited by the Gamecocks without an offer from them, but that soon could change, perhaps as early as this week.

‘I find out after the meeting the coaches have and he (coach Botkin) said he will coach coach (Jay) Frye,” Brunson said. “He said they think highly of me.”

And Brunson thinks highly of USC after checking things out on Saturday.”

“Academics for one,” he said in recalling some of the standout moments of the visit. “They are are very one on one with their athletes. The facilities, their strength and conditioning program is pretty good. It’s the first time I’ve seen that one on one. We got to look at the new (practice) fields and where they were building the new dorms and things like that.”

Brunson also spent time with Lorenzo Ward and Steve Spurrier Jr. and he said they all seem very interested in him.

“Coach Botkin said I can play Will or Mike, he can see me playing either one,”he said.

Brunson has offers from NC State and Georgia Southern. A USC offer would be big to him but he’s not sure he would commit right away.

“I don’t know,” Brunson said. “They are definitely up there now of the schools that I like. But I can’t say. It’s a little early. I know I’m taking some more unofficial (visits).”

Brunson plans to go to junior days at NC State February 21st and Clemson March 7th. He’s also thinking about a visit to Louisville.

Please only commit if you really mean it. That means your recruiting process is over - that you won't talk to or visit any other schools. If you're not shutting down your recruiting don't commit to us. Period.
