Scuttlebutt is that Rocker just packed up his stuff and left town.

Confirmed on Twitter. Just never showed up for the morning staff meeting. Headed to Auby.

Low-class move.

Let him go, this is more of BOBO coming too light, I truly believe now that the players left the coaches were telling them to just hold on they were going somewhere else. this has gotten interesting probably will try to convince some good kids to come with him , an ass is an ass people show you who they are, they don't change if they are real a holes.

Auburn going to be Muschamp-light in terms of coaches now.

It will be interesting how they fare and maybe telling if the HC was the issue.

Because one of our wins was over them?

Well they seem to be throwing big $$ at what they can get. The pay for Bobo was a surprise.
I'm just not that upset about this and I wouldn't be that excited about it if I was Auburn. I'm not typically an optimist, but I honestly like the replacements better than the coaches that were going to stay.

Sure it was...I think there's a reason why loyalty and "welcome home" are themes being currently pushed.

Some of the criticisms from former players were about this.

I put on a happy face when he was hired because what is the option - but the guy is the definition of mercenary.

The well-traveled Rocker spent two seasons (2018-19) at Tennessee, his fifth different stop in the SEC before arriving at South Carolina for the 2020 season. He has also logged Division I stints at Georgia (2014-16), Auburn (2009-10), Ole Miss (2008), Arkansas (2003-07), Cincinnati (2002), and Troy State (1997-01). In addition, he spent three seasons with the NFL’s Tennessee Titans (2011-13). He mentored the defensive line in each of those stops, but was also given the additional title of Associate Head Coach while at Georgia in 2015.

Well it likely was smart of Shane to not dump all the coaches and start over.

But there's also the possibility that Rocker was told to look elsewhere and Shane knew he was going to leave.

We hired Ellis Johnson knowing he was likely a short timer. Some coaches are like that. I do hope we can keep Kitchens.

Not the best of starts for Beamer, perception wise.  Coaches, players, recruits, leaving daily.

Are there any Gamecock alum Dline coaches/players out there who want to continue the "coming home" trend?

The negative perception will last only as long as it takes to find a better replacement (see Bobo replacement).
