Ladies and Gents (and others),
Why are there many discrepancies between scouting services when awarding star rankings?
What does it take for a player to fall from a 4-star to a 3-star (Davidson) so late in a high school season?
Likewise, how does one rise so late in a season?
Do Rivals and Scout and other services compete with each other so they arbitrarily change rankings to prove they're different?
Is there one service that most rely upon?
I have always paid attention to Rivals more than the others...should I not?
Please don't respond with rankings matter little. I get that.
Admit it though...stars are "sexy."

I like studying the recruiting rankings. Getting 5-star players is GREAT (Jadeveon Clowney, Marcus Lattimore, Stephon Gilmore, & etc.) but I like the way the Gamecocks coaches evaluate players. I don't know why a 4-star player would fall to a 3-star player, but I do know that Shaq Davidson is a BIGTIME player and I am glad that he is a GAMECOCK! He made the game winning catch in the recent Shrine Bowl game. Instate QB Jacob Park, who won SC Mr. Football & is a 4-star player, is over-rated. He is not the BEST highschool QB in the state and I don't know how he won Mr. Football over Northwestern QB Mason Rudolph, who should be the #1 ranked instate highschool QB followed by the talented Byrnes QB Shuler Bentley #2.
