*** SECT USC (4-12/6-14) vs. Ole Miss (10-8/15-10) Game Thread ***

Well,  making Couisnard and Bryant sit out this game shows Frank either does not care whether he keeps his job, or he knows he will keep it, or he knows he won't keep it.   If he was fighting for his job, those guys would have played.

This is the least talented, and worst coached team Frank has had at USC.     I don't know why I wanted them to win this game.   I'm so glad this miserable season is over.

Rumor is beginning to bubble on campus that it might be a MENTAL health issue.  I’m not trying to build the rumor mill, since I honestly don’t know.  Just trying to address the question.

(and if that’s right, you’ll never know more than just... he’s out for health reasons... because they CAN’T legally say more.)
I hope that's not the PC way of saying assault now.

What I want is an explanation for what the hell happened this year. Muschamp drove me crazy with his secrecy BS and now he is gone. Frank needs to tell us what is going on with the team and why he does things like sit two guys that should have started, plays the M & M guys so much, etc.

If he goes or stays - I hope he stays - he needs to clean up his roster and get rid of guys that cannot play. We know who they are and he does too.
If Frank got rid of every player on this team that can't play, few would be left.    I think we've seen the last of Lawson.  Probably the last of Bryant.   Couisnard might be gone too, if he is at odds with Frank.   I hope we've seen the last of minaya and moss, but if Frank stays, I doubt that.   I hope Mike Green and Cooper transfer somewhere they can play.   Nelson is off to law school.

Frank is very loyal... almost to a fault, but he requires that you work within his rules.  If you can’t do that, he’ll let you run with a long enough rope that you hang yourself with it.  I think several guy have run with the rope and will see the portal as their only option beginning tomorrow.

Frink is a mystery.  He didn’t appear to be with the team tonight, and I haven’t noticed him for last few games.

Anderson - gone.  Moss - gone.  Benson - likely gone.  Woods - likely gone.  Leveque - may be gone.

i hate it this team couldn’t gel.

All are possible.

Well... we will learn Frank Martin’s fate within 2 weeks.  Count on it.
Yep. Sadly, I've become too apathetic about our team that I really don't care if Martin stays or goes. If I had my 'druthers, I'd keep him as coach only because I don't think we will be able to hire anyone better.

Meh.  I don't know.

Maybe Frank was letting these guys improvise in real games with a view towards modifying his system.

I have been busy and haven't made an effort to watch replays of the games we have lost, so I don't know what will happen with them next year.

Frank says couisnard and bryant have injuries and the pressures of this season are weighing them down, or something like that, so he decided not to play them.

That actually makes more sense than you might think after watching this game.

I had gotten so used to our defense smothering the life out of teams the last 10 minutes of a second half that anything else seems kinda boring and useless.

The media guys like Frank, too, and didn't go there about him being on the hot seat.

Lawson is not beefy enough to drive in like Sin used to do, but the dishes to McCreary were about the only positive thing I saw in this game.

It's definitely something Frank needs to work into the game next year if he stays.

Well, there you go.

I am so used to Frank's teams trying to the bitter end.  That tells you how weird this season has been.

I thought this season would be a good one.  I was wrong.   I don't expect next season to be a good one, but I might be wrong about that.   Just have to wait and see how things play out.    Who the coach is.   What players are on the team.   Will there be anyone who can make a jumpshot.    Who will play PG.  Will Minott be in good shape.  Will Frink play.  Lots of questions.  Not many answers today.

The boxscore reveals that our bigs (Leveque, McCreary, Minott)  did most of the scoring in this game.   I like that.   I always prefer to score inside 15 ft.   This was the most success we have had all season with our bigs on offense.  The problem was, the guards could not score.
