The article is a couple of weeks old but still worth talking about

Shane Beamer is among the many college football coaches who want a few more restrictions added to this free-for-all era of NIL.

While Beamer advocates for players to make money, he said during an event on Wednesday night that he does think there need to be rules so schools can’t buy recruits.

As you can see below, Beamer’s comments during a booster event in South Carolina echoed some made by Nick Saban on the same night, though Beamer didn’t go as far as to call out Texas A&M by name:

Will Congress step in and make more rules about this? That seems to be what Saban, Beamer and others are not-so-subtly doing — sending messages to those on Capitol Hill (who various commissioners have already met with).

We’ll see if anything changes over the next couple of years.

NIL is not the reason why our football program has absolutely sucked in recent years up to this point, nor will be the thing that makes our program better.

I think most programs will suffer buyer's remorse when the NIL money doesn't translate to success on the field.

The risk of a student-athlete being "fired" in December will be there and that will be the next shoe to drop.

Giving players the chance to make money off of their jerseys is great and should have happened a long time ago, but paying a college player more than scholarship money and a monthly stipend doesn't really make sense to me.

There is zero way that congress will get involved due to the constutionality of the situation...this shows the ineptness of the NCAA and IMO this is the beginning of the end of their control of college football (and maybe sports as well)

Also just another thought but I wonder how closely the NCAA is watching what is happening with the LIV tour vs PGA Tour...I think the situations are quite similar
