So if App. St reaches a deal with Loggains, who do you want? I'm guessing Shula takes over at least for the Bowl game, and could be Beamer's choice full time. I really wish we weren't having this discussion every 2-3 years.

Pete Thamel reporting Loggains is APP ST.'s primary target for head coach:

According to this guy, the App St board is meeting today at 5pm to discuss/approve HC. We could know something soon.

Hopefully someone who doesn’t motion every player in the backfield just to run a play up the center for 3 yards or a 5 step drop with slow developing routes and hope your generational qb can break 5 tackles and somehow bail you out.

UNC is in a coaching search, their OC did a lot with Drake May. What other programs are in coaching changes? Or does Shane just throw a lot of money and get the best on the market.

If we go outside of the team, I'm hearing a lot of fan requests for Kevin Johns and Buster Faulkner.

Of course there are the Kendall Briles portion of the fanbase.

All true, but he also disproved conventional wisdom that South Carolina would never run a successful screen.

Incuding a caught slant and shovel pass in the same season.

Kevin Johns would be a nice fit! Run heavy and spreads the field in the passing game. With a mobile qb that would be really hard to defend.

And he did a good job when he was at Duke. Heck, I also liked what Faulkner did at Ga Tech - I thought the game he called against GA was a thing of beauty.

But let's face it, it's probably going to be Shula. And if Sellers is comfortable with him, I might be ok with it.

Whoever it is… this is a huge hire for Beamer. So far imo he’s 0-2 in the OC hiring. Needs to knock this out of the park.

My guess, this is a position in which there will be a lot of interest. I know we are told this on every Carolina hire, but I would think it's definitely true on this one.

I wouldn't be overly upset if Teasley followed. He's been a beast in recruiting, but haven't seen much development yet.

I think he should let Shula be the interim and have him calling all the plays in the bowl game. If everything looks good there, give it to him.
He has so many years experience but he did move around quite a bit. When a guy only stays a couple years at most of his jobs, I wonder, was he not that good or was he just getting better because he was so good?
Hope he ends up being great at it and we can offer him enough to stick around.
BTW, Can't be upset with Loggains. This is his first ever HC opportunity.

Do you think Drake Maye and LaNorris Sellers have similar type styles?

I'm all in on Shula as Sellers is much more Cam Newton than Drake Maye imo Shula and Elliott as passing coordinator and running coordinator, co-offensive coordinators... bring in a QB guru or a former Shula QB or QB coach as a QB coach and run it back for continuity sake.
Next man up, Beamer is still here but why not pay the OC and keep him? I'm guessing the noise from earlier in his first season made the offer look a ton better...
