So Who Do You Want for OC?

Marshall put up a ton of yards and points. How about their OC, Seth Doege or Casey Woods from SMU, same reason. Both have some experience in the SEC. Those would be lateral position moves but we might be able to up their pay if they’re looking to move to the SEC. I honestly have no idea but it should be an attractive position for coaches with all the positives we have going at the moment. Hot QB, winning, coaches job security. Nice to have the problem now of finding coaches due to them getting jobs vs getting fired.

At some point do you ask Sellers about it? Carolina doesn’t have many opportunities at a QB of this caliber, do you take his ideas into consideration?

With Sellers being here for at most 2 more seasons, a crop of big fast wr’s coming in, this is, IMO, the time to open the checkbook, get the best brightest OC who can actually scheme up a game, make adjustments, and maximize the talent instead of counting on the talent to make him look good.

Agreed, @carolina_corpsman . Assuming current OCs at the D1 level are out of the question, we should look at hot and up and coming QB coaches in systems to translate to our current skill positions.
Also, I expect that the D will take a step back just due to players moving to the draft, can’t rely on them to win games; there will be times that the offense will have to win, and have to win shootouts. I really like the idea of a fast paced offense that is run first but has that option to hold it and pass or read the rush and let sellers take off. An OC who spreads the field and forces you to cover the routes and stop the run. Think Tenn. a few years back.

Yep, we will be starting multiple 1st and 2nd year guys on D next year. Maybe at WR as well.

I think the Oline should improve due to experience with multiple younger guys starting a lot of SEC games (wonder how cam Pringle is doing?). Sellers should improve, and the report of having 3 WR’s running sub 10.4 100’s means it’s going to be tough to keep em all covered is exciting. Gotta find someone who can scheme that talent up and score 40 a game.

Just to provide some NIL context to our talent situation. Supposedly Ohio State spent $30 million to field a team this year. I read somewhere that SC was on the hook for about $7 million this year. We could maybe do about 50% more on an annual basis, but we're never going to win a bidding war. Now at some point (2025), revenue sharing kicks in, but that will still be a capped fixed percentage that all schools will have access to.

I think he should let Shula be the interim and have him calling all the plays in the bowl game. If everything looks good there, give it to him.
He has so many years experience but he did move around quite a bit. When a guy only stays a couple years at most of his jobs, I wonder, was he not that good or was he just getting better because he was so good?
Hope he ends up being great at it and we can offer him enough to stick around.
BTW, Can't be upset with Loggains. This is his first ever HC opportunity.
Yep. It also appears to be the same pattern with Shane's OCs if Dowell leaves.

We might want to figure that one out before the next hire.

I wouldn't be overly upset if Teasley followed. He's been a beast in recruiting, but haven't seen much development yet.
The winning formula of change your coaches like underwear will work eventually, I just know it will... because the grass could be greener with that coach... let the domino's fall and cross your fingers because what could have been is no more!

Yep, because expecting an Oline to be good at least once per decade is an unreasonable ask. So whom should we hold responsible? I'd gladly hope that some BOT members would be replaced if that will have a direct effect on the Oline.

Sellers made the O-line (and the OC) look better in the second half of the season because he was able to make people miss. There probably should have been 5 or 6 more sacks per game.

Teasley is a solid recruiter, but not the best Oline coach. After watching the interview with the director of player development it seems like they’re doing most of the recruiting work so I don’t tink he’s worth keeping just for recruiting.

The OLine played very well, blocking for a QB like Sellers takes time and experience blocking for him, learning his tendencies, him learning yours and we saw that later in the year. To think the majority of the sacks early in the year were on the OLine is just ignorance, sorry...
The OLine trucked teams and over powered teams in the 2nd half to blow them out during the 6 game win streak that we are currently on, they are young, talented and love Coach Teasley with another great group behind them!
You can be niave but it starts with talent, without it you can coach till the cows come home to no avail but talent makes coaches look good but a coach doesnt really make talent, they help, assist, babysit, play psychologist, tutor, hype man...
I can count on my hand the coaches that took a group of less talented players to seasonal success and all were flames in the night that were schemed against with better talent after film was out there and became great announcers after NFL careers...
Most great coaches have a few superstars that let them come along for the ride because they loved thier shtick, the culture they built...
Tell me another OL coach in the country or one you think we can get that is getting the talent Teasley is keeping in state and pulling from in first 2 years? Once again we should be trying to keep these guys not talking about why or who we should be getting rid of but hey let the domino's fall and cross your fingers instead of running it back after being fucked by the refs and going into next year with a QB that knows his OC and is building on success we are in limbo, celebrate 🥳...WOW! GO COCKS JUST WIN!! Beat illinois!!

Loggains has left coaching one of the best QBs in the country to fall off the face of the earth in Boone.

Having said that, ASU is expected to remain competitive in it's conference. Drink's teams always had great defenses. I personally think Dowell is making a mistake, but oh well.

Getting a HC position is really tough. If he can do well at a G5 school, he'll get P4 offers within a couple of years. And App St is totally a football school, with a really good track record. There are a lot worse schools he could have gone to. IMO, this seems like a good opportunity move for him.

Of course I could also be wrong, and we'll never hear about Loggains again.

I hope in the next couple years Beamer can get us scheduled to play App St. again. It would be nice to watch Sellers and company SPANK Loggains team.

I don’t see it. App St is a risky school to play especially now that the committee values record over schedule. All OOC games should be at Mary’s school for the blind so we can hang 75 points for style points. Also Sellers is gone by ‘26 that’s pretty soon.

Just went from the guy voted worst OC in the guy voted best OC.. he alsocoached Cam Newton to the superbowl.

I went and checked what is scheduled.
I sure am glad these can be changed.

2025 - V.T. in Atlanta, NC St., Coastal Carolina, Clemson
2026 - Miami. Towsan, & @ Clemson
2027 - App. St., @ Miami, Clemson
2028 - NC, Wofford, @ Clemson
2029 - @ NC, App St., Clemson
2030 - East Carolina, NC St., @ Clemson

I guess my wanting to go play App St. is already planned but like CC mentioned, Sellers will probably be long gone in 27. 26 will be his JR year but with the NFL 3-year removed from HS rule, he could go pro after next year. I figure after winning the Heisman in 25 or 26, he will be a first-round pick.

With the messed-up way the CFP makes their picks, we are seriously needing to have an easier schedule.

You were so excited to write that you nearly pissed yourself... everyone read the first few times you wrote it and it is wrong!
FYI Loggins was ranked the worst by ESPN for the 2017 NFL season not voted while Shula was ranked the best for the 2015 season by Pro Football Focus...
One had a veteran Cam Newton and the other a rookie Mitch Tribisky at QB 😅🤣😂 just to put things into context!

Go COCKS!!
