My question is this: Is it a lateral move if another school offers you more money? I understand SOS's stance, but people are going to interview if it is possible that more money is involved.

Kendall made an assumption that, because of what Spurrier said, that he is upset that Elliot interviewed for the job. Elliot talked to Spurrier before he went and interviewed.
I assumed that Spurrier would have been upset also, but it turns out that is not the case. Spurrier obviously knows that Bama would have been a significant pay increase, and a great opportunity for Elliot.
I thought that when Spurrier said it, that he was sending a message to somebody. I just don't know who that was for, if for anybody..........
