South Carolina commitment Jordan Rhodes recaps Mississippi State official visit

Jan. 22, 2017

Three-star offensive tackle Jordan Rhodes remains committed to South Carolina, but he’s yet to settle on which school he wants to sign with next week.

This past weekend, Rhodes went on an official visit to Mississippi State. Next weekend, he’ll head to Missouri.

A final decision will be made on signing day.

“Mississippi State University is located in one of the most historical college towns of Starkville. The Bulldog family provides lower and upperclassmen with some of the best academic programs in the (country),” Rhodes said. “Life on campus is busy as at times, giving student-athletes the ability to be productive throughout the day. If you’re playing sports there, you have the ability to report to class in the morning and then head to practice in the afternoon. There’s hundreds of majors to choose from and I’ve got to say the arts and sciences department is, so far, the best I’ve seen.

“I played football for the first time my senior year and people don’t quite understand how hard it is to make a decision. Coach Dan Mullen, Mrs. Mullen and the entire coaching staff treated us fair, along with all the other prospects. South Carolina and Mississippi State are among the best research schools in the SEC.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound prospect from Creekside High School (Fairburn, Ga.) committed to South Carolina last Sunday, before the end of his official visit.

“South Carolina, they have one of the best academic programs,” he said. “I just love being there and being able to connect with the Gamecock family.”

Rhodes added, “With the eight offers I have, I’m truly blessed to be in this position. It’s pretty hard making this decision, but I’m pretty sure that I’ll have it done on signing day.”
