South Carolina RB commitment Kyshaun Bryan shares the latest
Jan. 17, 2017
South Carolina running back commitment Kyshaun Bryan, the No. 32-ranked running back in the class of 2017, has lined up two official visits: Pittsburgh and Iowa.
There will be no official visit to South Carolina, where he’s been committed since April.
“To be honest, I’ll know after this weekend or next weekend. I’ll release what’s going on and everything that’s happening,” Bryan said, when asked about his status with the Gamecocks.
“Everybody has somewhat of an idea.”
Translation: Bryan is not expected to ink with South Carolina on signing day, which is Feb. 1.
For now, the Panthers and Hawkeyes are the two primary suitors for the 3-star prospect from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
“It’s an ACC school. Coach (Andre) Powell, the running backs coach, is a great guy. He’s coached some great running backs,” he said of Pittsburgh. “I’m really intrigued by them.
“One of my old teammates, Dontavius Butler, is committed there. He’s told me a lot about the school, and I’ve heard it’s a great place.”
He added, “Iowa is Big 10, so you know they’ve got the best 0-linemen in the country, and they run the ball a lot. It’s a small college town, so they’ll have a bunch of fans at the game. The people are real nice up there. I can’t wait to get up there, too.”
Oregon State recently offered and an official visit was scheduled for this weekend, but those plans were changed when Pittsburgh offered.
“I had a conversation with my parents and the family discussion came out that it would be more convenient for me to go visit Pitt over Oregon State,” Bryan said.
As things wind down before signing day, a couple of factors will be considered by Bryan.
“How comfortable I feel with the coaches and what’s the best fit for me,” he said. “For me and my family, what’s the best decision.”
