South Carolina RB pledge Kyshaun Bryan de-commits from Gamecocks

Jan. 28, 2017

South Carolina has lost a member of its 2017 recruiting class just days before National Signing Day.

Kyshaun Bryan, a 3-star running back from St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.), announced his de-commitment from the Gamecocks on Saturday morning.

“I want to start off by saying thank you to USC for giving me an opportunity to play ball at their University,” Bryan wrote via Twitter. “However what is being offered to me is not how I would like to start off my collegiate career. So at this point I am officially de-committing from the University of South Carolina for my best interest…God Bless.”

Bryan, who holds 19 reported offers, is on an official visit to Iowa this weekend. The Hawkeyes are now viewed as the favorite to land his services with 64 percent of recruiting reporters pegging Bryan to Iowa, according to 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound running back had been committed to South Carolina since April 30.

He is ranked as the nation’s No. 34 running back and the state of Florida’s No. 82 overall prospect, according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

The news follows the de-commitment of 4-star safety Hamsah Nasirildeen, who rescinded his Gamecocks pledge last Sunday. South Carolina now holds 21 members in its 2017 class as National Signing Day approaches on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
