South Carolina season ticket sales off pace slightly from last year
August 25, 2017
With a little more than three weeks remaining before the home opener, South Carolina’s season football sales are slightly behind the pace of Will Muschamp’s first season.
The Gamecocks had sold 49,464 season tickets as of Tuesday, a school representative said. At the same point last year, 50,253 had been sold. This year’s sales represent 98.1 percent of capacity for season ticket sales. The team finished 6-7 in 2016, Muschamp’s first season as head coach.
The school’s record for season ticket sales is 54,005 in the 2014 season. The Gamecocks surpassed 50,000 in season ticket sales from 2013-2016, and they still have time to reach that number this year.
South Carolina doesn’t play its first home game until Sept. 16 against Kentucky. The Gamecocks first two games of the season are Sept. 2 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte and Sept. 9 in Columbia, Mo.
South Carolina plays the Wildcats, Louisiana Tech (Sept. 23), Arkansas (Oct. 7), Vanderbilt (Oct. 28), Florida (Nov. 11) and Clemson (Nov. 25) at home this year. No games are sold out yet.
