While South Carolina hasn't said so officially, we have confirmed that junior Perry Orth will start at quarterback this Saturday against LSU. Orth has been expected to start at quarterback in place of freshman Lorenzo Nuñez, who suffered a shoulder sprain against Missouri.

This will be Orth's second career start with his first coming the third week of the season against Georgia. He rotated with Nuñez giving way to the freshman on the second snap of the game against the Bulldogs and Nuñez played most of the second half.

Redshirt freshman Michael Scarnecchia is also expected to see action, depending on how the game plays out.

Orth is 23-of-47 passing this season for 273 yards. He has thrown one touchdown against two interceptions while seeing limited action in five games.
