Bluffton WR Cameron Bent 6'1" 178lbs suffered a torn ACL in week seven of his junior season but his coach Ken Cribb said he’s making a full recovery and should recapture the speed that makes him a dangerous player.

“He’s excited, working real hard,” Cribb said about Bent adding his standout has run a sub 4.3 forty in the past.

Bent has offers from USC, Coastal Carolina and Charlotte while Clemson and Mississippi State have been showing interest.  He attended USC’s junior day last month.  The Gamecocks like him as a receiver.  He is going to Clemson’s junior day this Saturday.  The Tigers see him as a cornerback.  And he went to Charlotte last weekend.

Bent said he talks with USC recruiter Pat Washington weekly and is getting a lot of pull from the Gamecocks.

“They are just catching up and telling me they want me there and want to work with me,” Bent said.  “I had a great visit.  What really was big plus was I play baseball, too, and they said they would love to have me on the team.  I’m a centerfielder.”

Bent also is in touch with Clemson recruiter Tony Elliott.

“He said they want to see me fully recovered before they can offer,” Bent said.  “I can do pretty much everything but I won’t have contact.”

Bent said he likes USC and Clemson and has not favorite at this point.  He plans a return visit to USC for a spring practice.  He is not graduating early.

Prior to his injury last season Bent rushed for 611 yards and 7 touchdowns and caught 9 passes for 249 yards and 3 scores.  He averaged 27.7 yards per catch.
