Defensive back Hamsah Nasirildeen 6'3" 210lbs of Concord, NC, has committed to South Carolina for the 2017 class. He confirmed his commitment on Twitter.  He is considered one of the top safety prospects nationally in the 2017 class.  Nasirildeen narrowed his list to the Gamecocks, Florida and Florida State.

USC offered Nasirildeen in February. He also held offers from Clemson, Alabama, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Maryland, East Carolina and some smaller programs.

Nasirildeen made multiple visits to USC over the recruiting campaign, including Tuesday,  and developed a strong relationship with Will Muschamp and recruiter Bobby Bentley.

“I’m excited to be a Gamecock and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me at the University of South Carolina,” Nasirildeen said.    “They’re just real.  They just show that they care for their players.  They said I would make a fit, like guys that make a great fit for their defense.  They said they would coach me up and develop me.”

Last season Nasirildeen had 85 tackles with 6 interceptions.  He also plays receiver and had 30 catches for 700 yards and 6 touchdowns.

He is the 21st commitment for the Gamecocks’ 2017 class and fifth defensive back. He camped at USC in June.
