Three-star defensive lineman Cecil Stallings (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) will not sign with South Carolina, according to a report from The State Newspaper. Stallings committed to the Gamecocks over the summer.
The news shouldn’t come as a surprise that he will not sign with the Gamecocks. Upon the arrival of the new coaching staff, as they did with several prospects, said they would honor his scholarship but advised him to look around for a better fit. Stallings took an official visit to Mississippi State recently.
South Carolina now has 23 players in the 2016 recruiting class, including five defensive linemen.
