Standout defender appreciates the personal attention Will Muschamp gave him at camp

June 06, 2016

Hamsah Nasirildeen, the highest rated 2017 visitor at day one of the Will Muschamp Football Camp, received some 1-on-1 instruction from South Carolina’s first-year head coach.

Muschamp pulled the 6-foot-3, 210-pound prospect from Concord, NC, aside during individual position work and put him through drills for about 10 minutes.

“(Muschamp) helped me a lot with my footwork, coming in and out of breaks,” Nasirildeen said. “He also gave me a lot to improve on.”

South Carolina occupies a spot in Nasirildeen’s lead group, alongside Alabama, Florida, Clemson and Florida State.

The attention he received from Muschamp during Saturday’s camp didn’t go unnoticed.

“It means a lot to see the true interest that he has in me,” Nasirildeen said.

Listed as the No. 14 outside linebacker in the country, Nasirildeen is on the Gamecocks’ board as a safety. The four-star prospect had 80 tackles, four interceptions and five pass breakups as a junior. On the offensive side of the ball, he caught 33 passes for 584 yards and two touchdowns.
