Surgery to end Gamecock commit WR Ortre Smith’s season early

The season is over for Wando WR Ortre Smith. The USC commitment suffered an ankle injury a couple of weeks back and coach Jimmy Noonan tells the High School Sports Report that Smith will undergo surgery ending his senior season.
This season Smith had 33 catches for 398 yards and 2 touchdowns according to statistics compiled by the Sports Report.
He is a finalist for Mr. Football and was chosen for the Shrine Bowl and the Army All American Game.
Smith has said he plans to enroll in January at USC.
