Texas A&M game prediction

I messed up. I only gave us a 14 pt win, 31-17, not 24 pts. 44-20.
But I did know we would win.
I hate all the dropped passes. It could have been a bigger win.

Sellers and Rocket carried the team with some Simon says get out my way, gotta give credit to the OLine as well, they battled all night, Oscar and Bennett literally were the only other Gamecocks that made serious offensive stats. Harbor kept them honest, they kept a man touching him(grabbing his jersey) and another with an eye on him all night, he made a couple nice blocks. Brown and Gage kept the LB's and safeties honest by being fearless on routes in the middle though they didn't catch them they made it known they were not scared and we would throw it, they also threw some nice blocks! Smith threw a nasty block on a pull that sprung Sellers...

The Defense was held and got the BS end of the stick all night and still dominated!! Night got pulled in the wrong hole and Bam misread the only real blown long run of the night, besides that and one or 2 blown coverages from miscommunication, that #7 who is a flat out stud saved us on the defense played flawless! The first 6 points were a 52 and 55 yard FG...

This team is legit, this coaching staff is legit! 530 total yards and 286yds rushing on one of the best rushing defenses in the country!
BOOM!!

Well I certainly wasn't expecting a 44 - 20 win but I'll gladly take it.
After so much talk about how good A&M defense was, no one would have expected 44 points.
Even at halftime when it was 20-20, some of us wondered if our O had given out some already and even saw out D slip a little allowing them to score a couple times in the 2nd QTR. But that second half was all Gamecocks.

We got 58 votes in the new AP Poll.

Week 11 AP Poll.png

Others receiving votes: Missouri 81, South Carolina 58, Tulane 41, UNLV 9, Lafayette 9, Washington 4, Arizona St. 3, Iowa 2, Texas Tech 2.

Assuming we beat Vandy, I would like to see us in a rematch with Notre Dame for the bowl game.

The Battle for the Bonham Trophy victory was the third AP top-10 win of the Shane Beamer era, joining the 2022 beatdown of the Tennessee Volunteers and the road rivalry win the following week over the Clemson Tigers. Just like the ’22 upsets, the win over A&M could be one that keeps the Gamecocks’ opponent out of the College Football Playoff at season’s end.

The 44-20 shellacking moves Shane Beamer into second place all-time in top-10 wins at the University of South Carolina. Of course, Steve Spurrier is No. 1 on that list. The Head Ball Coach did it seven times across 10.5 years in Columbia. Beamer previously had been tied for second with the Man in Black, Joe Morrison. Now, the Gamecock headman has three top-10 wins in less than four years.

That might not seem like many, but matchups against the top 10 are rare. Less than 8% of the country can claim a ranking that high each week. However, because the Gamecocks have a tough schedule, Beamer’s teams have played more elite opponents than average.

In just over three and a half seasons, South Carolina is 3-4 in top-10 games. USC is 1-3 on the road and 2-1 at Williams-Brice Stadium in those games. For comparison’s sake, Clemson is 1-4 against top-10 teams during the same span.

I have said it a few times before that Shane's teams play more like Morrison's did back in the day. Shaky offense, but great defense.
