What a crazy and exciting ride 3/4's into the season for this group, thoughts?
Lots of ups and downs but they have exceeded expectations for most at this point, with tons of football to play and a chance to have one of the better seasons in our history!
Just to make sure it doesn't go unsaid, Clayton White and the Dominate D are the elephant in the room... this group of defenders will be historic and open doors for continued success... Kennard, Knight, Williams, Hemingway, Sanders, Nick, DQ, Fortune, Kilgore
 
This whole team has improved. Looking at our offense:
Sellers has come so far this year. By next year he might be a Heisman candidate.
The OL has had great success and they are able to rotate the bench in so much that all our starters stay healthy.
I hope Rocket and JuJu still have the Covid year left. But we have 2 Soph. Braswell is one, and 2 Fresh. On the roster. Maybe they will be ready to shine next season. I would love to see Traevon hit the portal and come back home. He had over 3000 yards and 42 TDs his Sr. year and was 4A player of the year. Hardesty probably got fired for not offering him.
We got about 15 WR coming back next year. Hope they continue to get better.

Our D looked good since the end of last year. White just kept that going.
Just such a good looking team now and being better each week. Can you say 9-3. I think if they keep playing like these last 3 games, they will win the next 3.
 
Completely forgot about Braswell but I think Rocket is gone. Coming off an injury to come here and if he has a solid last few games he probably should go pro. Lots of wear and tear on RBs and they lose value the more miles they have. I think JuJu has to be out of time unless Pavia’s lawsuit paves the way for him.
 
Unless the NCAA just throws their eligibility rules out the window, Rocket and JuJu will be out of eligibility after this season. They don't get a Covid year as that was for the 2020 shortened season and they both enrolled as freshmen in 2021. Both of them played 4 years and played in too many games each year to qualify for any redshirts.

Sorry, you’re correct on Rocket. Forgot he wasn’t a RS.
 
The hybrid triple-option offense we are running right now is fun to watch, but you have to have an RB with the right vision to run it. Rocket has great vision on the field just like Lattimore had.

It is so much more exciting than a traditional pro-style pocket QB offense that has really never worked here. Tom Brady was pro-style, but so is Lamar Jackson these days.

Our D is legit and hopefully the mark is set now going forward.

All I will say is that I hope no one opts out for our bowl game, because we will likely draw a great opponent.

our D is ridiculous...didn't hear much about Diego Pavia after the game lol

I also like our play calling much better now on the offensive side of the ball and our OL staying health is huge as well

I don't know if Rocket is Lattimore but without a doubt you have to have a player that when you put him in a one on one battle, a break one tackle to blow the play open he wins player at TB and QB and DE and WR to be a successful coach or team... To be special you have to just know that guy is going to get it done and trust, Rocket and Sellers both show that quality as does Kennard and Stewert, Knight, Debo, Nick, DQ, Hemingway, Sanders lol and others are stepping up in Simon says, Harbor, Addaway, Bennett, Jacobs....

He has learned to manipulate time, take what is given and continues to get smarter about putting that cape on but man when he twists around in the pocket leaving DLineman, TV analysts and Gamecock fans holding our breath, wondering what happened as he makes the play, it is absolutely all FIGHTING GAMECOCK with an S on his chest!
He did it time after time Saturday and the shovel pass that released the Rocket, that exploded down the middle of the missouri defense culminated a Herculean effort from Sellers!
 
The little things that Coach Beamer does on Social media, the media relations and productions crews are killing it!! I've seen the names mentioned a few times, that entire team of professionals, from paid to volunteer/students... those guys are helping change the culture, killing the recruiting and deserve thanks, a big GAME. COCKS!!!! Keep up the amazing work, Beamer gets this and relates like his father and Spurrier, he stays genuine but a character at the same time.
 
Watched a bit of a Doty podcast and he interviewed Sellers, worth watching. The thing that stuck out to me was the amount of times Doty referenced Beamer and how complimentary Sellers was of Dowell, from giving him a ton of credit for closing the deal for his commitment to...
