· South Carolina is the only team in the Top 16 of the major Dec. 1 polls (Coaches/AP/FWAA) who is undefeated in the last seven weeks and has played (and won) four Top 30 teams (using Sagarin ratings).
· South Carolina has the longest current win streak in the SEC and fourth-longest winning streak among Power 4 teams (Oregon 13; Notre Dame 10; SMU-9).
· South Carolina has played more games (7) against AP/AFCA Top 25 teams than any other team in the Southeastern Conference.
· South Carolina is one of only three teams (also Notre Dame and Texas) with four wins vs. opponents ranked in the AP Top 25 at the time of the game.
· Using the Nov. 23 CFP Rankings, South Carolina and Georgia have played more teams in the CFP Top 25 (5) than any other team.
· South Carolina is ranked 15th in the ESPN FPI Schedule Strength Rankings (Alabama 16, Ole Miss 31, Miami 55, Indiana 65).
· South Carolina has won four true road games – three by at least three touchdowns. Only Texas and South Carolina have won four road games in the SEC.
· South Carolina is one of four teams to win four games against Sagarin Top 30 and one of six teams to play seven Sagarin Top 30 teams.
· South Carolina has had fourth quarter leads in 11 of its 12 games this season.
· In one of its three losses, South Carolina was without starting QB LaNorris Sellers in the second half against LSU due to injury.

That’s all well and good. But the committee has spoken. Bama gets the last SEC slot over us.

Hope we get a really good bowl game and get our 10th win against a really good team.

Even not getting in the CFP, I think Beamer will still bring in plenty of players to replace the Sr's we are losing. They will see how Stewart trained good enough to get to play as a freshman and they will shoot for the same.

Yep. We got hosed. Not much we can do at this point but go to a kick-ass bowl and then kick-ass of whoever we go up against.

We’ll end up being a top ten team for the final poll. Not too shabby considering we were picked to be near the bottom of the SEC, and had a 3-3 record with no hope in sight only about 2 months ago.

STAY FOCUS! Win anyway!

I agree, 10 wins would be really important for our program. Here is my fear, we are going to have a handful of starters that will sit out, and will be up against a team that has nobody sitting out -- much like the ND game two years ago.

If Clemson smacks SMU to win the ACC championship, I don't see how were not in.

I think the process needs a wildcard weekend like the NFL does.

The committee chairman (Michigan AD) was asked specifically about that by Rece Davis last night, and he said there would be no movement from teams not playing in conference championship games...as they would have no data points to contribute.

I'm disgusted with the whole mess.

Disgusting is right. They say head to head matters, which is why we didn’t jump Bama and Ole Miss. Fine.

Except when the team you just beat gets a 1st round bye, and you are left out.

Make that make sense.

Just bureaucrats creating drama for different reasons.

There really are no rules to this stuff.

I still think we're in depending on how the champ games go.

Here are this weekend's conference championship games:

I am guessing either Arizona St. or Iowa St. would be our bowl opponent, but I don't know.

Facing either one of those teams at Jerry World would be a great bowl game.

We all knew the ole miss game probably cost us along with the refs in the lsu and bama games! An absolute travesty to say the team is ranked ahead of us because they had a 3-1 record against the top 25 when we had a 3-3 record and didn't lose outside the top 25 but they lost twice outside the top 25... if that fat fuck from michigan and the CFP committee had been sitting in front of me while he was talking to ESPN I would have had to fight every bone in my body not to slap the shit out of him, just saying! What a slimy POS! To say no team has a chance to move up after todays poll after bama beat an unranked team at home and moved up multiple spots and we beat the #12 team in the country, a team still playing for something and move up one spot this week... just say we suck big NCAA booster dick, I mean the greatest cheater of all time SMU bought there way back in with a ticket in the ACC and a cup cake schedule, that tough loss to BYU and those big wins against Duke and TCU...
So if you are bama, notre dame or ohio st you can have a bad loss but not Indiana, Army... So a team with a 3-1 record against the top 25 and 2 losses against teams outside the top 25 is better than the team with a 3-3 record against the top 25 and no losses against teams outside the top 25 🙄🙄🙄🙄

We reeled off wins against #10, #24, #24 and #12 teams in the country to win 6 in a row, while bama has loss to the #7 team and a .500 team while beating #19, an FCS team, a below .500 team and lsu...

I'm hearing that as long as Bama doesn't get knocked out of the playoffs (Clemson win and SMU remains in the playoff), then SC might be the top pick for the Citrus Bowl against Illinois.

Donati is pretty sharp. We got our guy.

Now he needs to do a perfunctory call with Greg Sankey tomorrow, then get on the horn and start lobbying to get our SEC Coach of the Year and his team into the play-offs.

Or else Shane's potential recruits are going to wonder why he didn't try to get us in and they just might go somewhere else to play.
