The Innovista Research District, once in jeopardy, is finally getting traction again. I know some of you won't like the architecture of some of the buildings. That said, it seems that the wheels are finally moving again.
There are several housing complexes planned for the area in and around the Palmetto Compress. A housing complex is planned for the corner of Blossom and Huger. Also, a new dorm is designated for the two parking lots at the Carolina Coliseum. In the future, there is also a concept of 6 new Greek houses in the lot across from Thirsty Fellow.
As far as research structures that are imminent, the Horizon 2 is finally going to be built on the corner of Assembly and Blossom. The construction of the Darla Moore School of Business as well as the Assembly streetscape have accelerated the movement of the campus towards the Congaree.
