The next move for South Carolina WR recruit Josh Vann
July 23, 2017
With visit No. 3 to South Carolina now in the rear view mirror, 4-star wide receiver Josh Vann is about ready to put an end to this recruiting stuff.
Vann was on campus Saturday for the Spurs Up event, about a week after visiting Georgia, the other top school on his list. On Saturday, he told SEC Country that a commitment would “mostly likely” best his next move.
“ don’t think I’m visiting any more schools,” Vann said.
Saturday was his third trip to South Carolina. The Gamecocks had the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder from Tucker, Ga., on campus for a spring junior day event and again earlier this summer, during camp season.
In fact, trip No. 2 was the same weekend that 4-star quarterback Dakereon Joyner announced he was committed to the Gamecocks. And, for most of the summer, Vann has made it sound like he is leaning toward joining him in South Carolina’s 2018 class.
Earlier, Vann mentioned the possibility of going to the wire for a commitment, but that’s no longer a possibility, or so it seems.
“I’m thinking either before the season or maybe two games in,” he said, “Whenever I feel comfortable. Don’t have a confirmed date yet.”
Two factors were listed, when asked what will be considered between the two schools.
“Wherever I feel more comfortable and another home for me,” Vann said.
