That one play was more than a game changer it is a culture changer. The only play in history that it can even be compared to is the Immaculate Reception. That one play set the culture for the Pittsburgh Steelers for the past 40 years. Prior to that one play the Steelers won occasionally and played at a mediocre level. The years that followed that one play-well you know the story.
Clowney’s HIT will go down in Gamecock lore as the one play that begins a dynasty of winning, building nationwide recognition around the country and increasing the desire for people to be part of our program at a level we have never seen.
40 years from now (or sooner) we will be errecting at statue in front of Wiiliams-Brice comemerating this play. Just like the one the Steelers just put up for Franco Harris.
