Nearly half of the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class so far is made up of offensive linemen, but there are still a few more targets left for coach Eric Wolford.
Gamecocks commitments Jaylen Nichols, Mark Fox Jr. and Vincent Murphy are rated as 3-star prospects by the 247Sports composite, though Fox checks in as a 4-star on Rivals. Here’s a quick look at those three:

Nearly half of the 2019 South Carolina recruiting class so far is made up of offensive linemen, but there are still a few more targets left for coach Eric Wolford.
Gamecocks commitments Jaylen Nichols, Mark Fox Jr. and Vincent Murphy are rated as 3-star prospects by the 247Sports composite, though Fox checks in as a 4-star on Rivals. Here’s a quick look at those three:
- Nichols (6-foot-5, 300 pounds) Charlotte, N.C., No. 86 offensive tackle. Played mostly defensive line as a junior, but also saw time at left tackle.
- Fox (6-4, 290) Miami, Fla., No. 50 tackle. The starting right tackle at Northwestern High School, one of the nation’s premier programs.
- Murphy (6-3, 285) Fort Lauderdale, Fla., No. 21 guard. Started at center for St. Thomas Aquinas, which is also one of the top prep programs in the country.
- 4-star Wanya Morris (6-5, 268) Grayson, Ga., No. 12 offensive tackle. The former Florida State commitment visited at the end of last month. Several big-time programs are also in the mix, including Auburn, Florida, Georgia and LSU.
- 4-star Warren McClendon (6-5, 290) Brunswick, Ga., No. 25 offensive tackle. Offensive coordinator Bryan McClendon is his cousin, so South Carolina’s got that working, but Alabama, Auburn, Clemson and Georgia are involved, too.
- 4-star Michael Tarquin (6-5, 290) Belleview, Fla., No. 30 offensive tackle. South Carolina is set to host him for an official visit in April. Ohio State and Oklahoma are the other finalists.
- 4-star Jackson Lampley (6-4, 299) Nashville, Tenn., No. 34 offensive tackle. Though South Carolina is listed among the favorites, he hasn’t visited. Auburn, Penn State, Tennessee and Wisconsin are in similar standing, but the Vols appear to be in the best position.
- 4-star Keiondre Jones (6-4, 315) Hogansville, Ga., No. 6 offensive guard. The Gamecocks hosted him for a visit last month, but they’ll have their work cut out, because Clemson, Florida State and Ohio State are also in the mix.
- 3-star Riley Simonds (6-4, 290) Buford, Ga., No. 16 offensive guard. Visited South Carolina for the first time in January. Alabama, Florida, LSU, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech are among his other offers.
