The VENT thread

I don't vent much, but here it goes. I hate hearing the "it's 3rd...…......….....down!"  I hate the 4th quarter video of the team working out. I don't think any more money needs to be spent on any upgrades (maybe restrooms and concessions only). And finally, how can we not have so many dang injures ? We must lead the nation in hamstring and groin strains. Now that I let off some steam, I'm hoping the coaches and the players can go to College Station with a desire to play hard, coach better and end this 5 game losing streak with the aggies.  GO COCKS !   :footballcockysmall:

I hate that as well.  I also hate "It's another Carolina....First Down!"  I know why it was started, but it just sounds lame to me.  The other thing I hate, and it's not just Carolina who does it, is holding up four fingers going into the fourth quarter.  We know.

So a change is probably coming...lol time for more people to be disappointed.

Maybe Muschamp is kept because of his hot looking wife?

The wife part is definitely a positive, but I really just want to win football games.

I think the big issue here is the buyout. They are trying to do here is have it both ways. What I am saying here they feel if only changing the OC among a few other issues will satisfy the fan base and keep them from spending the 20M on buyout plus keep the money coming via the donors and fans alike. A fine line it is. But say if Boom refuses to accept making changes can it come in to play in his contract if disobeying his superiors grounds for firing could result in a less pay out value. Hopefully Tanner and crew have that in the contract. So it is a few ways to look at this.

I was in hopes that there would be something bigger coming out of today. But the board is kinda of listening. Just not loud enough but 2 more to go before the season is over with. If a very ugly 4-8 I mean blowouts that boggle the mind here, Still few things in play here to say the lest.

I hope we don't become the university that paid the largest buyout to fire a coach.  :praying-to-god-smiley-emoticon:

At this point I've come to stomach the disappointment and realize it may be some years before we can truly challenge for the East again.

I'm also oddly excited for the coaching search thread... those are a wild ride!

There were a lot of empty seats, and a lot of app st fans in seats, I expect there to be 20k clemson fans at least, if that doesn't send a message to the BOT, I don't know what will.

Honestly unless it affects alumni donors, then they give less than two shits what happens at the ball games.

And that is one of the many things that needs to change in this program.

He’s not getting fired this year.  He’s had the best 3 year start of any coach ever in the history of the school.  One bad injury plagued year against the nations toughest schedule isn’t worth a $19 million dollar buyout.  That’s just stupid.  He ain’t getting fired.

The 20M thing by Tanner has them in a pickle.

Could USC afford to buy out Muschamp’s contract? University board is split

Even if USC wants to replace Will Muschamp as head football coach this year, the school may not be able to afford the $19 million buyout in his contract, several trustees told The State.“I personally don’t think the university can buy out a contract such as his,” said Trustee Egerton Burroughs. “My job right now is to keep tuition down and hopefully reduce tuition.” To be clear, none of the six trustees who spoke to The State on the record would say whether Muschamp should be fired. Instead, they said that decision should be made by either Athletic Director Ray Tanner or President Robert Caslen.

Having such a high buyout could be a lesson for the board of trustees in future athletic hires, said Trustee Charles Williams. “If I had to do it over again I would never have a buyout like this again,” said Williams, who agreed with Burroughs that USC can’t afford to buy out Muschamp.  (View full article)

Don’t ask, we already did: SC lawmakers won’t help pay Muschamp’s $19 million buyout

South Carolina lawmakers have $1.8 billion in extra money to spend next year, but they won’t use any of it to help the University of South Carolina fire football coach Will Muschamp.“No, that belongs in the athletic department,” said S.C. House budget committee chairman Murrell Smith, a Gamecocks football fan and USC School of Law graduate.

Fans’ calls for Muschamp’s departure have re-emerged after the Gamecocks fell to a 4-6 record Saturday with a home loss to Appalachian State of the Sun Belt Conference. The Gamecocks are double-digit underdogs in each of their final two games and are in danger of finishing with their worst record of Muschamp’s four-year stretch in Columbia. (View full article)

So the only thing here is the money issue. THE BUYOUT!! Not for that well we can read the tea leaves here. Tanner might have came up with the contract but the board signed it.

It’s not the only thing, there are plenty of fans that would like to see him succeed and think he can.  He has a top 20 recruiting class coming in, a promising young QB with another one otw, an improving defense with a young blue chip Dline.   He’s got to fix his offense and that’s really the only issue

The buyout doesn't have to be paid at one time.  It can be paid off during the length of the contract.  I don't see this being the big deal.

Well you see it one way I see it another.  Well we have another year and then we shall see this time next year.  We agree to disagree here.
