Three-star receiver M.J. Jarrell has South Carolina in his Top 10
May 26, 2016
One of the major area needs on the South Carolina roster may soon be getting some help via receiver M.J. Jarrell. The Orlando, Fla., native recently released this current Top 10 list and the Gamecocks were the only school from the SEC to make the list:
The 6-foot-2, 183-pound Jarrell has a long list of suitors, including over 25 scholarship offers from Duke, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Louisville and Pitt among others. 247Sportsrates Jarrell as a three-star prospect and the No. 154 receiver in the nation for 2017.
The Gamecocks leading pass catcher set to return in 2016 is sophomore Deebo Samuels, who had 12 receptions last season. While South Carolina did sign six receivers last signing day, adding to a larger inexperienced receiver group is something Will Muschamp and company must do to get the position back up to SEC standards.
Check out Jarrell’s highlight reel and you’ll see he possess outstanding size at the high school level and certainly doesn’t lack the speed necessary to make an impact at the collegiate level:
