Service dogs are the best. Although I'm not sure how I feel about military and even police usage of dogs. Admittedly, I tend to like dogs a lot more than humans, and have a few doubts about putting dog's in harm's way without their ability to give any kind of informed consent. Humans should be aware of the risks at all times and have agreed to do a certain task/job. Training dogs to do dangerous tasks seems different to me, even if it it saves human lives.
