The South Carolina Gamecocks (0-1) face their second-straight top-25 opponent when they travel to Gainesville to face the No. 3/3 Florida Gators (1-0) on Saturday, Oct. 3. Game time is set for noon and the contest will be televised nationally on ESPN.
 
OVER THE AIRWAVES:  Mark Jones will serve as the play-by-play voice for ESPN with Dusty Dvoracek providing the analysis. Marty Smith will handle the sideline reporting. The familiar voices of Gamecock Greats Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs handle the call for the Gamecock Radio Network with Jamar Nesbit on the sidelines.

I'm afraid this isn't going to be pretty. I'll be watching hoping we can hang with the Gators. We have to play flawlessly and create some turnovers to even have a chance. Still it's college football and anything can happen. Hopefully we'll get to see more of Joyner this week as their defense will be all over Shi Smith. 

 
Fingers crossed, sound bar tuned, cough drops (for screaming throat), cuss jar already placed by recliner, DirecTV bill paid, power bill paid, wifi paid, no kids today, cold no adult beverages I need t be sober for this one.  Lastly a travel size pack of tissues just in case.

Gamecocks open on their offense by driving the field and scoring a rushing TD from Harris to take a brief early lead, but Florida responds with a drive of their own, to tie the game 7-7.....

 
Listening to the Gamecock radio broadcast - they keep talking about "not Xs and Os, but Jimmys and Joes". Keep talking about the obvious difference between talent levels for each program. Haven't heard much of that since the 1990s. And Mullen isn't supposed to be much of a recruiter, while Muschamp can sell ice to Eskimos. I'm just exhausted of all this.....

 
Hill capitalizes on a turnover with 9-play 48-yard scoring drive.

He maintains tempo and hits Shi Smith after some good runs in the end zone.

All tied at 14.

 
A surprising turn of events for the Gamecocks:

After the offense stalls due to the WRs not being able to find their hands, and a flubbed Kal Kroeger punt, Florida found themselves starting at midfield. Ominous beginnings. But on their first play, the Gator QB Trask fumbles the ball and the Gamecocks recover, and rely entirely on rush plays to drive the field and score to tie the game 14-14.....

 
rj roderick on that 3rd and 14 has to take an angle that cuts off the wr short of the first down.   spectacularly terrible angle, its like he wasnt aware of where the marker was.   good job of the defense bossing up in the red zone.

id like to see collin put a little more zip on that post to legette but our receivers have to catch some of these contested balls that are hitting them in the hands let alone the uncontested ones.  protection hasnt been bad today until those last two plays which went from swiss cheese to shredded cheese

 
Defense is so bad, I don't see how USC will win more than 1 or 2 games this season.   Offense would be good enough IF the defense was GOOD.  But it isn't good.  Long, disappointing season ahead.

 
I don't understand why Muschamp's defenses have been so bad when he's supposed to a good DC.

I just don't get it.
