*** USC (0-1) @ #3 Florida (1-0) Game Thread ***

Wonder why we have not seen Dak Joyner running some option type offense at QB.  Hill can't run, so they don't even have to worry about that.

We looked good on some plays, but not enough to compete. Right now we don't have good receivers. Hill threw the ball just as well as Trask. The Florida receivers caught everything that came their way. Our guys dropped passes right at them.  My take is we need to get a big name coach to bring in better talent. I like Muschamp, but he's not able to draw talent like Spurrier. I don't know who we should get next, but I like Mike Leach.

I would go after mark Stoops at UK.

I don’t know who the hot coaches are but sadly I don’t think Muschamp goes anywhere during or after this year. We don’t have a good record of canning coaches.

It will be a noble effort to play football this season, but I honestly don't think we'll finish the already modified season.

I have a greater appreciation of how much Clowney's pass-rushing abilities kept us from losing games with each passing game and season.

Any team can score on us at will when they need a first down or TD but we can't do the same against them.

The problem I have with losing today to a #3 team is that we also lose to a Slippery Rock St. team the same way.

I still don't think it's fair for any coach to be fired this season because of the problems the virus has caused and will continue to cause this year, though.

You know more pay cuts are coming if the season is shortened and maybe even if it is not.  To that end I think we should maybe raise the attendance cap at W-B because social distancing will take care of itself if we continue to lose.  The program needs as much revenue as it can get right now.

The end of the 2nd Q and start of the 3rd Q lost us this game. We play well in the 1st and 4th Qs.

Honestly I thin Bobo's offense with Hill is a huge improvement over what we have had the past several seasons. we are moving the ball and scoring points. though dropped balls still haunt us, we don't have a big play threat WR.

But the defense if the mind boggling part. this is supposed to be Mushcamps strength. I;m just not seeing it.

My two cents - there comes a point when the coaches are not to blame.  I saw well designed plays on offense with more dropped balls than I've seen in ANY game, period.  These are division I receivers and tight ends who are not stepping up.  I saw defenders on several plays in the right position to make a play and either cannot tackle or misplay the ball.  Perhaps talent levels or just guys playing tight, I don't know, but the guys need to make plays and the coaches are putting them in position to do so.  Oline played well, Harris is looking really solid.  Time for others to step up and time to let other guys have a chance to see the field.

Even though it was not caught, I think Hill's pass to Legette on the first possession after the UF FG in the second quarter was the best I've seen since the days of Shaw and Thompson.

Stupid play-calling after that, though.  Why not run it instead of going a quick 3-and-out and give the Gators another chance to score with 3:00 left on the clock.

Hill's pretty good despite the loss.  Maintaining tempo against a really good UF team is worth a good bit.

We looked like one of Morrison's teams on offense during the first half.  I listened to the first half on the radio and Todd was losin'  his mind because we were playing so good on offense.  He seems to know how good Hill is being a former QB himself.  Todd was pretty pumped.

Couldn't agree more

I have been in Champ's corner and have defended him as he took over a dumpster fire with the way Spurrier let the program crumble.  I am not really sure where I am at this point, but am tired of the silly mistakes that I see week in and week out.  The lack of discipline by players, just falls on coaching to me.  I am not sure that the mistakes are just magnified by they fact that we are always on a razor thin edge in every game so you notice them more or if we just have more than other teams I watch.  I am sorry, but if you cannot catch I am sending in one of the freshmen and letting them have a shot.  I want a coach that puts his foot on your throat when winning and keeps trying to score.  At times I fell like Champ has too many stats of plays and game scenarios in his head and tries to play the safest percentages and has no real "feel" for the game and the power of momentum.  Spurrier was the absolute master of feeling the game and he would give you a knock out punch immediately following a gut punch.  If we made an interception you better believe he was going deep for the score.  I just don't see that here.  Personally I would like to see Muchamp become DC and Trob just coach Db's for the rest of the season.  We are not at a point with assistant coaches that Champ can play CEO.
