The South Carolina Gamecocks (1-2) return to the friendly confines of Williams-Brice Stadium this week as they play host to the No. 15/14 Auburn Tigers (2-1) on Saturday, Oct. 17. Game time is set for noon ET and the contest will be televised on ESPN.

OVER THE AIRWAVES: Dave Pasch will serve as the play-by-play voice for ESPN with Greg McElroy providing the analysis. Holly Rowe will handle the sideline reporting. The familiar voices of Gamecock Greats Todd Ellis and Tommy Suggs handle the call for the Gamecock Radio Network with Jamar Nesbit on the sidelines.

We need to blitz Nix on passing downs and stop giving up soft zone completions.  Hopefully our O keeps up the trend of playing better in the 2nd half.

Horrible call to start off with. Gwynn did not hold, he just stayed on his block when the guy turned around. But the referee saw the guy on the ground and flew the flag.

And no comment from the announcers.
That was a terrible call.  They talked forever because I think the head ref was like you better be 100% sure before taking off that TD.

Weak holding call on Horn to give them that first down.  Also not calling their OL holding our pass rush.

Well, the team has been improving on both sides of the ball as the game has progressed. Just scored a touchdown after intercepting AU's QB for the 3rd time thus far. Gamecocks lead 27-19 with about a minute left in the 3rd Qtr.....

We gave Auburn enough time to tie or win the game, but they couldn't get it done.

Gamecocks win 30-22.

South Carolina holds in a goal-line stand (or close enough, from the SC 15-yd line) in the final seconds, to defeat 15th/14th-ranked Auburn 30-22. The Gamecocks improve to 2-2 on the all-SEC schedule for 2020, while Auburn falls to 2-2.

With the victory, the Gamecocks defeat Auburn for the first time since 1933, breaking a losing stretch of 8 games, all since joining the SEC. It's also the 2nd win versus a top-25 ranked opponent since last season's upset of UGA in Athens.

USC rebounded from a sluggish first half on both sides of the ball - the Gamecocks only trailed by 2 16-14 at the half, despite being out-gained in yards 253-119 in the first half, thanks to Auburn stumbling with two 2nd quarter interceptions from Tigers QB Bo Nix. Nix came into the game with only one INT on the season, but was induced into 3 interceptions, with DBs Jaycee Horn and Jaylen Dickerson each recording their first interceptions of their Gamecocks careers.

In the 2nd half, the Gamecocks - not exactly known for major 2nd-half adjustments under Head Coach Will Muschamp - played a stronger game on both offense and defense. The offense out-gained Auburn 161-87 after halftime, with both RBs Kevin Harris and Deshaun Fenrick having strong running efforts. And the Gamecock defense continued to pressure and harass Nix, forcing him to 5 for 12 passing after halftime, with 0 TDs plus the 3rd and final INT for him.

South Carolina now prepares for LSU next Saturday in Baton Rouge, LA. The game is set for 7:00 pm eastern, and will be broadcast on ESPN....

Good win.  Aside from the obvious strong performances, I throw a game ball to Keir Thomas.  He set the tone on that DL today.

Thank goodness we finally had a running game. Now, we need to improve in stopping the run.  Great effort in winning a big one.
