DB AJ Terrell 6'2" 179lbs of Atlanta is being strongly recruited by USC and Clemson.  They are two of his top teams at this point along with Florida, Auburn, Georgia and Alabama. He’s pointing towards a decision on his birthday September 23rd thought that’s not absolute.   Between now and then Terrell plans to visit as  many of his favorites as possible.  His most recent stop was to Clemson last month to check out the Tigers again during a camp session.

“It’s a great school,” Terrell said.  “They have a winning program that is close to home, and the academics are really good.  They are a winning program with good academics and I know I can showcase my talents there, both on and off the field. I want to be a good student-athlete.”

Clemson secondary coach Mike Reed has been recruiting Terrell for the Tigers and has worked him hard.  Terrell said the two have developed a tight relationship thru the recruiting process.

“We have a great relationship, we text almost every day,” Terrell said.  “He keeps in touch with me and I feel like I can talk to him whenever I want to,” It feels comfortable. He just tells me that Clemson is a good place, but they lost three good defensive backs after last year and that now is a good time for me to come in and make a name for myself. He has good backs that are disciplined and they follow the system.”

Terrell has not identified a leader from his top six but the visit to Clemson did work well on the Tigers’ behalf.

“Clemson is high. Really high,” Terrell said.

Terrell also attended satellite camps staged by Georgia and Florida in Atlanta last month.

As for a visit to USC, Terrell is expected to get to Columbia sometime in July.  This week he will be competing at The Opening in Oregon.
