“He wanted to offer me at Auburn but they had a person in front of me,” Thomas said. “He likes how I go and get the ball.”
This season Thomas had seven interceptions and 81 tackles. He was selected as an alternate for the Alabama-Mississippi All Star Game played over the weekend.
Thomas is no stranger to Columbia. He visited in the 9th grade when his brother was graduating from Fort Jackson and walked on the field at Williams-Brice Stadium.
“It was the first SEC field I was ever on,” Thomas said. “South Carolina is definitely in my top list with Middle Tennessee, UAB and Georgia Southern.”
USC did not get in to visit him last week but he will take an official visit in January. He is scheduled to visit Middle Tennessee January. He did see Jim Harbaugh from Michigan last week along with assistants from Florida, North Carolina and Auburn.
