3 star OL Trey Derouen 6'3" 324lbs of Lilburn, GA received the full exposure from USC the past four days. Friday thru Sunday he made his official visit with the Gamecocks. Monday afternoon he hosted Steve Spurrier and GA Mangus for an in home visit.
‘It went very well,” Derouen said of Monday’s meeting. “It was basically about football, and the snow storm. I really like coach Spurrier. He’s a down to earth guy.”
His good feelings for Spurrier come on the heels of his official visit where he also gained a positive perception of the Gamecock program.
“Great staff, great facilities, the people really spoke out to me. Gamecock nation feels right to me. Coach Elliott, I’ve built a relationship with him over the past months. Plus the academics are top notch.” He was hosted on his visit by fellow offensive lineman Donell Stanley.
The Gamecocks see Derouen as a guard. He came out of his official visit saying USC was the big leader for him, and he reaffirmed that position on Monday.
Derouen has two more visits to take. He will go to Kansas State on Wednesday and Florida on Friday. He plans to wait until Signing Day to announce his final decision.
