Hopefully there is never again a time where we will be in such a situation that we get recognized for the sheer audacity and shocking nature of hiring a coach who is way outta our league...

But reading that article made me wonder..

has there ever been a school able to consistently hire so far above itself

Frank McQuire...won a national championship...left and came to USC

Paul Dietzel,...won a national championship...left and came to USC

Bobby Richardson..one of the most famous players of his generation...could have gone anywhere.....came to USC

Bill Foster....played for a national championship...left and came to USC

Dawn Staley.....we all know her story...

Now taters love to point out how so many of those coaches never tasted success comparable here.....but the fact is....has any school ever been able to pull off what we do? Certainly taters have never hired a nationally prominent coach in any sport. Sure, some of their coaches have been somewhat succesful....but that is normally just credited to playing in a weak ACC...
