Bama has been a bit of a roller coaster team this year beating Gonzaga and losing to Georgia. Let's hope they're more leaning toward the team that lost to UGA than beat the Zags.

I sure would love to see them win this one. And beating a ranked team might be the last thing they need to get into the tournament

Let's GO GAMECOCKS!!! Really need Bryant and Couisnard to come out aggressive, Reese needs to keep us under control and make them work on the defensive end, would love to see Wildens get out of his slump as we need a big presence down low, him or Woodley or Wilson have to make them respect the post... Stevenson and Martin will make the hustle plays and bring home the win with Chico and Dexter! The zone defense is the difference in the end...

68-58 as bama finds their shot and the crowd gets loud but we stay in the fight with 8 to play

90-71 final, the tide got hot from 3 at the end and we tried to match them but on to Missouri

@kingofnerf Remember what I said about Swiss cheese? THAT was a clinic in ‘Bama exploiting our weaknesses and playing to their strengths. No one wanted to believe me when I said that Bama had the tools to beat us like a drum. A 21 point loss sounds a lot like a drum to me. Sure, we had a nice run and cut it to 6. But then ‘Bama went back to running the floor, penetrating and kicking out for the three. They hit THIRTEEN threes, and took 33 of them. We hit 7 and took 21. No contest here, as far as I can see. Just read the stat sheet.
Oh, and just so I can remind everyone again… our bigs combined for 8 points and 6 total rebounds. Stevenson and Carter had 5 rebounds each. THAT is pathetic.

I didn't watch or listen to the game, but I see the 50-27 halftime score.

Did Frank sit on the bench with his thumb up his butt and do his textbook pout in the first half or did he try to coach the team?

Weird how such a fan of the GAMECOCKS boasts in thier defeat, good for you!

Realizing and understanding the shortcomings of a team that rears itself every year isn't boasting about defeats. We're not going to the post season yet again.

Yes I know Frank took us to the Final 4 in 2017.

I watched the Marquette/Butler game earlier in the day yesterday on FOX.

Marquette was 17-10 going up against a weak 13-16 Butler team but hung around to get the 64-56 win.

Shaka Smart is in his first year at Marquette and the arena in Milwaukee was packed and jumpin'. They are a solid 5th in the Big East after yesterday's win.

Smart had his struggles at Texas while Frank had his own here during the same time.

It would be nice to get a rematch of our 2017 NCAAT Round 1 game with them at Bon Secours Arena, if we can still find a way to get there.

Shaka Smart was one of the coaches I was really high on, and was on my “short list, when Frank was hired here. A then “up and coming” coach who was proving he could coach at a high level. He’s had some bumps along the way, but I still respect the heck out of the man. He does things the right way.

Regardless of what happens with Frank, I would like to see us play Marquette like we did back in the day when Al McGuire was there.

Saturday was National Marquette Day up there.

They honored former player Butch Lee, who played back in the day when Frank McGuire was here.

He did not give one shortcoming of the team, he just boasted on how he told GAMECOCK fans how another team would beat us like a drum and they did, you seem to be good with it though since you dislike the coach of your GAMECOCKS... weird!!!
Tell me if a clemsux fan told you this, would you just play it off as him realizing the shortcomings of a team coming off a 4 game winning streak? Would you realize that throughout the 4 game wining streak this clemson fan understanding the shortcomings of our team never saw the positives of a 4 game winning streak but as with you only the negatives of the it came to late, it is too late and bama will beat us like a drum as real fans do...
Lets GO GAMECOCKS, we need a 9 game winning streak to close out the year, BELEIVE!

He is right in our guards have got to feed our bigs and aggressively attack the basket as they can't continue to just dribble and settle for 3's!

I'm 100% ok with Frank staying as long as he wants to. He's a good man by all accounts, runs a clean program and gets his teams to perform on occasion and had that magical Final 4 run. No other coach in our history has ever done that and no other coach in the future of basketball will ever be able to do again aside from Frank. Regardless of the coach, we probably just can't get the consistent talent needed to compete and make the tourney that often. Just accept who we are and it gets easier to tolerate these types of games.
