The teams from #5-9 still have 2 games left to play and can easily lose some of those games.

We need to remain focused on getting a middle seed and a First Round bye in the SECT and see what happens from there.

Would you realize that throughout the 4 game wining streak this clemson fan understanding the shortcomings of our team never saw the positives of a 4 game winning streak but as with you only the negatives of the it came to late, it is too late and bama will beat us like a drum as real fans do...

I like Frank as a coach and as a man. This isn't about hiring nice people to run our respective sports programs. We've been to the NCAA once in 10 years. Once.

Here’s the thing… I’m no longer ok with Frank (only as of this year, as you may recall) because of what I described. We are getting out-recruited, our coached, and most importantly out-played. And the reason for that is there is a severe lack of coaching of our bigs (not for lack of talent… it’s lack of development/coaching) AND the fact that teams we SHOULD be competing with are wiping the floor with our teams. I could see it a mile away… ‘Bama is simply better than us, we don’t match up well against them, and they were a better coached team. Nate had his guys keep doing what they do… they stuck to it and blew the doors off the game. Coach Martin had his guys stick to it and…. ‘Bama blew the doors off the game.
So you don’t want a new coach, because of the past… winning in the NCAA. I give Coach Martin all due credit for that. BUT… it’s 2022, not 2017. It’s time to move on and build again, not stay put simply because we can remember the “good old days”. If that were what wins games, the first Frank (McGuire) would have gone out on top (only getting a 1st round exit from the NIT any of his last 5 seasons isn’t the same as winning the ACC or playing in the NCAA’s like he was for a while). Eventually ALL coaches start to lose and someone else needs to step in. I hate it… it’s nothing personal against Frank… good man, great coach, great husband/father, etc. But it’s simply time….

I heard them mention on 107.5 recently about Tanner saying he doesn't really know why MBB hasn't been winning like it should. Realistically, he won't call anyone out if he does actually know why we're losing so much, but it's really, really bad if Tanner truly doesn't know.

Nate Oats just has a better AD too than we do and that's where the change needs to happen. Bama has a pretty good football team, too, while ours has struggled to get above .500 ever since Tanner took over. I believe Shane will do better in Year 2, but he's pretty much SOL if he continues to struggle next season because he won't get any help from Tanner.

Let a new AD hire Frank's replacement if it comes to that. You can't tell me that a fair amount of boosters don't feel the same as I do.

Lackadaisical play in this game. The situation in the Ukraine was a kick in the nutsac to most people this weekend. Kotsar was the leader of this team his last year here and some of the guys this year played with him when they were underclassmen. Then the two guys from Lithuania helped Frank turn the program around.

I can't think of any other team in the SEC right now with that player background from a part of the world where bad things are happening right now. You are lying to yourself if the situation in the Ukraine didn't negatively affect the team this past weekend and suck some energy out of it.

I expect us to win the Mizzou game tonight.

We disagree, I think your timing sucks as well as your tendency to drive a negative narrative as a fan and you seem to find joy in rooting for your opinion now...

@GMB2USC23, anyone who is around this forum long enough knows that I LOVE Gamecock men’s hoops. And I love detailing X’s and O’s, strengths and weaknesses, and opponents pros and cons. It’s the coaching side of the game that gets me geeked up, because of the little details which I pay attention to.

If you find me too negative, I’m sorry. That’s not my purpose, nor point, in these posts. I don’t call out individual players (at least not the vast majority of the time), but I DO point to coaches and what they are or are not doing.

There’s nothing personal here between me and you, and as you note, we disagree on Coach Martin’s future. I certainly don’t see what I’m saying as a “narrative”, and contrary to what you may feel, I take no joy in saying the things I am now saying about Coach Martin and his staff.

I’m glad that there are fans as avid as you appear to be. The mens program deserves more like you. But I am of the OPINION that a change is in order, and I believe this season evidences exactly why.

Appreciate the response and the passion for GAMECOCK basketball! The GAMECOCKS are 19-11 in a league that will more than likely produce 7 NCAA teams, this team far out played its expectations as most experts had this team finishing 10th-13th in the conference.
They have a chance to go to the tourney still but you started with the replacement crap not long after you joined the board. I get it that is your opinion but how about put that aside, be a fan of the team and Martin until the season is over and then do what you will this summer when school is out concerning Tanner and Martin...
I'm not sure how much you played or coached or your back ground, X's and O's are great but in basketball the coach with the better players wins 8 out of 10 and those 2 losses are on the road lol, that is being extreme but you have a high basketball IQ from your posts and recruiting is the key to getting in the top 5, coaching gets in the top 10 when it comes to conference play IMO Martin has proven when he has the players, when the recruits sign with him he wins, period! If you don't see that and can't see that I'm sorry. The first 5 years were foundation years, the last 5 years were crazy, to be judged on the pandemic years is just insane and idiotic! If the Doziers and Thornwells signed with him on a regular basis we would finish in the top 3 on a regular basis and fight for number one seeds, that is fact, I think they will these next 3-4 years but you don't want to give them that chance, you want to start all over with an unproven that has never won crap, insane to think about to me, disrespectful as well!

Umm Double has been nothing but a Frank supporter since I have seen him posting even when others were saying he should go. You seem to take some type of attitude with anyone who disagrees with you and your positive outlook on Frank. I respect what Double has to say and he certainly brings some very good insights to what he sees in this team and is one of the more level headed posters when it comes to that. He tells it like he sees it, not being a sunshine pumper or a doom and gloom type poster. I guess when you are on one extreme anything contrary to your post is against you. Everyone has their opinion, you post yours and let them post theirs. This is not that hard.
