Gamecocks Square Off at No. 24/20 Clemson Wednesday in Palmetto Series

It’s the first time ever in the 173-game rivalry series that both teams are 7-0

The Gamecocks are off to the team’s best start since beginning the season 8-0 in 2016-17. It’s the eighth 7-0 start all-time for the program.

Carolina and Clemson are two of 14 remaining unbeaten teams in Division I. The Gamecocks are one of just four schools in the country to have undefeated men’s and women’s basketball teams.

We were only this strong on offense during the actual Final Four run itself that season. Real clunky and inconsistent offense during the regular season that year.

I think we're so used to conceding shots against other lesser teams prior to the Clemson game that it bit us in this game.

More than a moral victory, the highlights are like watching a Carolina/Clemson game during the height of the Frank McGuire era in terms of offense and ball movement.

This is a team that will continue to get better in December.

Before the pandemic, I would usually go to a couple of OOC home games in December and the midweek SEC games.

I can see myself getting back into that habit this year.
