USC misses out on OL Ryan Bates

USC target OL Ryan Bates of Warminster, PA committed to Penn State Saturday while on campus for an unofficial visit. He was one of three prospects to commit to the Nittany Lions on Saturday. Bates had talked in positive terms about USC earlier this month and said he would visit USC at some point.
Also visiting Penn State Saturday was DE Adam McLean of North Potomac, MD. He has offers from USC and Clemson and more than 20 others.
